Something Blue
Welcome to a new series on the blog - a place where we look at all things wedding and search out beautiful inspiration which will hopefully give you some lovely ideas when planning your special day.
Last year saw a rise in blue being the chosen colour scheme for weddings, so with this in mind and also the fact that Pantone's Colour of the Year is "Classic Blue" I thought this would be a good place to start the series...
"A timeless and enduring blue hue, elegant in its simplicity."
- Pantone
If you're in the midst of wedding planning you're probably very familiar with Pinterest...! There are some amazing ideas over there and I have a board dedicated to all things "Classic Blue" which you can find by clicking here

From the softest powder blue through to classic navy and everything in between, there's a shade to suit all tastes if you're thinking of choosing blue for your special day.
I love the mix of blue with other colours, such as the greens in a bouquet or buttonholes and gold with a rich navy blue in the stationery (all shown above). When thinking about your jewellery, blues also contrast beautifully with pearls , examples of this can be seen further on in this post.
Below are just a few of the blue creations that have been worn at Eva-Mae Weddings and as all of the Bridal Collection is made to order, incorporating a colour into a design is always an option.
Adele Bracelet (with Light Sapphire Swarovski crystals) Rubie Earrings (with Sapphire Swarovski crystals) Lily Hair Pins (finished on grips and with Light Sapphire Swarovski crystals)
A bespoke version of the Sophie Hair Vine - created slightly longer than the original and with Dark Indigo Swarovski crystals.
To ensure that you are able to find the perfect match, there are a wide range of Swarovski colours to choose from - below are just the blue shades! For more information about all the colours available take a look at my Colour Guide here
Swarovski Crystals - "Blues"
You may not be having a blue themed wedding, but will you be incorporating the traditional rhyme into your special day?
If the answer is YES, how about a pair of gorgeous blue shoes or for something a little more subtle you may prefer one of our "something blue" charms?
Available in three designs - Horseshoe, Crystal and Pearl and all featuring a light sapphire Swarovski crystal. The charms, along with other "Something Blue" pieces can been seen by clicking here
